The Last of Us is a series that got a lot of praise but it didn't please me. Don't get me wrong, I liked the overall plot, the actors and the setting. Pedro Pascal does a masterful performance and Bella Ramsey does not fall short of him. My problem is with the universe build and the character arcs. I didn't play any of the games but I am familiar with the overall narrative, the universe, the characters, the direction of the story and even the ending(s). SO I didn't hate it, but I also (unlike most people) didn't love it. Feel free to leave now cuz in the explanation ahead there will be SPOILERS.

The world building is VERY weak. Not the fungus thing, that was fine, original and unique. The problem I had was on: how it spread and how we dealt with it. They said it was a mutation that happened on weat or rice and it hit shelves one day and on the next everyone was infected... the people who wrote this clearly have no idea how retail works, and what cooking does to food. EVEN if it hit shelves AROUND THE WORLD at the same time (impossible, I know) and even if EVERYONE COOKED IT AT THE SAME TIME (another impossibility, I know) we cooked it at HIGH TEMPERATURES. That's what we do since cavemen cuz it is a good way to kill of anything we don't want, except vitamins and protein. If they made it in a Rice Festival in Asia, with raw rice being thrown around, with lots of tourist, that might have worked better imo. So that's one. The second one was, they talked with ONE scientist and the IMMEDIATE SOLUTION provided was: bomb everything... I mean, at least in The Division, the transmision and resolution where plausable. But here, everything was just done over the top so the story could happen.

However, at this point I was so invested in the characters and story that I just let my "suspense of disbelief" take me. But what happened next really killed it for me. First, Ellie is ALWAYS described has "inteligent" and "a lider", when all we see is a brat. An obnoxious, foul-mouth, misbehaved brat. An ass*ole really, that's what she is. Just like those teens we see playing loud music in public spaces or putting their feet up in public transportations despite posts clearly indicating they shouldn't. I swear, if this was a male character Joel would spend half his time slapping him behind the back of the head. An the fact that she now has this "power" just seems to make her worse. Then, she drops the f* bomb in EVERY line. I'm not kidding. It is hard to see her have a coherent conversation with anyone without a f* there in the middle. Crazy thing, not even the adults talk like that. The only time we don't see that is in the last episode, and I am pretty sure they did it so we would empathise more with her. But then again she's asleep a big part of it so, yeah... I'm one of those guys that would probably let her die in the end to save mankind.

Then there's Joel. I mean, sure... I get that he sees Ellie has a second daughter so he'll do anything to get her back but in the end, he kills tied up prisioners and unharmed men! He goes so far as to kill Marlene that give him more than enough chances and she could have straigh up just shot him in the back more than once. I mean... this full blown psycopath is now supposed to be the hero? No wonder he gets killed in the beginning of the sequel.

I liked it and was fully invested in the story, in the beginning. Then her behaviour and attitude started to get to me, but ok, she saves Joel. Then Joel turns out is a derranged lunatic so... I had no one to root for. It's no understatement that the best part was the 3rd episode with Bill and Frank. Yes, they are a gay couple and some people might turn away from it, I get it. But if it was a man and a woman the message would be the same. It is hard to find people to trust in the apocalypse, but if you do, you will live to see old age even in this Hell. And THAT was what I was expecting to see in the end! Seriously, Joel keeps saying not to trust anyone but the keeps finding people that TRUST HIM and the one who keeps breaking everyone's trust: is HIM! EVEN IN THE END WITH ELLIE!!

In conclusion, if you liked the games, you'll love this one. If you like "Walking Dead" post-apocaliptic shows, you'll probably like this one. But if you don't and want to see a more cohesive storyline with redemption arcs for its characters... this might not be for you.

For me: it works, but it has some major flaws. That said, it did peek my interest to see the second part and how people who just know this series (I believe I am a bit in that category also) will respond to it. Cannot wait for that s* show!

Road House is a good action movie.

It juggles a bit more than it can handle, and the character arc could have a better climax but overall it is an enjoyable and entertaining experience. I have to say that when I saw the original, way way back, it didn't grab me because the action was so poor. In that sense this was a clear improvement. On the other sense, when I see reruns of the original I now have a better sense of the main protagonist and I really like him. His dialogue with the bar staff about how he (and them) should do stuff really stuck with me through the years. But in this remake that was totally obivious and I think that was a bad thing.

SO, some things are better, some things are worse, but overall (just like the original) it was fun and entertaining. And I even liked Conor McGregor in it. Perfect for a saturday movie night. Recomended!

Hypnotic is very confusing and it doesn't make a lot of sense.

I mean, I liked the topic of the movie, but if everything is an hipnoses how does the audience know what's real? They tried for a "Inception" type of idea, but (just ike Argyle) it has so many twists that ends up not making a lot of sense. I did like the plot points, and some of the characters, but everything is put toguether in a very non-sensical way that by the end we are left with a sense of: "what really happened?" and "is it really over?". Ya know, that sense of relief that the good guys won and the bad guys lost. And that mid-credit scene that really didn't need to happen, it only made it worse.

I was lef with a feeling that they wanted to do more than one of these movies or maybe a series with this, but from what I saw I can honestly say that I am NOT looking forward too any of it. I do not recommend this. Not at all.

Argyle has got to be the stupidest movie I ever saw. Hands down.

The script is so convoluted, so full of twists and dumb things happening that it is impossible to think this wasn't writen by someone on meds, weed, drugs, mentaly challenged or all the above. This is a compilation of the most ridiculous ideas in cinema that you could possibly imagine... Adam Sandler couldn't come up with this s* and I am just sad that such a wonderful cast (Henry Cavill, Brian Cranston, John Cena, etc.) HAD to be in it. This is not only avoidable. This is: "burn the negative and wipe all records of it" stuff.

Get away from this. I mean it: RUN!

And NEVER watch anything from director Michael Vaugh ever again... EVER!

Migration is a really funny friendly family movie, that is perfect for a lazy weekend afternoon with the kids. Top animation, good story, good action, lots of things happening, lots of crazy twists, a really good jam packed entertainment that I recommend to everyone!
